In the 1960s, the New York based company Selecta had their frames produced in France, which is why this unusual, black acetate original can be called “Made in France.”
Acetate is a plastic manufactured out of cellulose or cellulose acetate. Unlike full synthetics, which are petroleum produced plastics, Acetate can absorb moisture and then release it into the air. Acetate is a very skin-friendly material with qualities similar to silk.
